Notes: In the museum collection.  Anonymous aquisition.  The Lightning came in three varients; this example is the small-frame Lightning also known as the Second Model Colt lightning.  The Lightning was the first rimfire rifle Colt produced.  Production ran between 1887 and 1904 with a total production almost 90,000 units.  She is slated to be a restoration project for the museum.
