Name: Number 4
Manufacturer: Remington Arms Company, Ilion, NY
Caliber: .22lr, .22 Long, .22 Short
Action: Rolling Block
Notes: In the museum collection. Aquired from a dealer on Gunbroker. It has a serial number in the low to mid 300,000's which would indicate she was made towards the end of their 350,000 run which ended in 1933. She is slated to be museums first restoration project. She is none firing and is in need of a new mainspring; there are very light firing pin strikes on the cartridges. The hammer spur has been shortened. Fortunately Numrich has both parts. The rifling is bad so she will be resleeved. She is a take down and there is a fair amount of play between the both parts. The wood is in good shape excepting two deeper gouges and three handling marks on the butt. Hopefully they can be steamed out. She will be reblued and the receiver will be case hardened. We will be posting a video of her restoration.
